"I give her a script and she does this miracle work with it.  Instantly when I saw what she had done with Insanity of Mary Girard, I realized this is an outstanding talent. It certainly was one of the best - possibly the best - production of that play, which I've seen so many times. The thing about Natalie's work is that it's - for me - what I call 'total theatre.' It is not just two people sitting in a chair talking the way we're doing right now, but it's entering into the world that one enters into when one writes a play. She enters into that world and makes it manifest on stage, so that the inner life of the psyche - the people involved - is visibly presented."

“The monumental undertaking of The Laramie Project Cycle by this young and dedicated company takes your breath away. The sensitive and superb direction by Natalie Villamonte Zito was very smartly executed, placing us right where we needed to be to grasp the enormity of this tragic play.”

Stage Buddy, 2018

“The Trial of Mrs. Surratt has many moving pieces and director Natalie Zito has planned an ambitious performance…The blocking and attention to detail throughout the performance is just delicious.”

DC Theater Scene, 2016

"Director Natalie Villamonte Zito invites viewers to explore the boundless corridors of the human mind in a way that will leave you horrified as much as you are mesmerized. Thoughtfully and eerily, Zito creates an ominous voyeuristic experience... A haungtingly beautiful performance relies heavily on whether or not audience members go home actually feeling, well, haunted. And on that front, Zito has emerged victorious..."

Washington City Paper, 2015

The Wandering Theatre Company's Antigone is a refreshing and visually stunning reinterpretation of the classic Greek tragedy...It is to Ms. Villamonte Zito's credit that the show remained consistently dynamic, engaging, and entertaining. The central strength of the show is its innovative staging... Antigone utilized, to great effect, the z-axis of the stage...the was a stage picture that was interesting, sculptural, and chock full of tableaus...the visual impact of the show was dramatic and surreal... Antigone is by no means berefit of text, but the strongest moments of the show are non-verbal. Several moments of particularly heightened emotion are complemented by highly stylized vignettes composed of movement and light."
